Chocolate Cake Batter Hummus
time 10 min | serves 8
Yum! This dip is a great option for less carbs. Eat it with fruit, pretzels, graham crackers or just a spoon. I added an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder and maple syrup.
- 1 (15 ounce) can or 2 c. chickpeas, drained and rinsed*, **
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder*
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup*
- 2 tablespoons water, or as needed
- 2 tablespoons tahini or cashew butter*
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract*
- 1 pinch salt*
*All ingredients available at The Country Cupboard
- Combine chickpeas, cocoa powder, maple syrup, water, tahini, vanilla extract, and salt in the bowl of a mini food processor. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add additional water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until hummus is smooth.
**I like to buy my chickpeas dried. Then I soak them overnight, cook according to package instructions and freeze. Super easy!
