New: Nitrate/Nitrite Free Meat! Dairy Free Cheeses! Kombucha!

Pumpkin Pie Almonds (and Pumpkin Pie Everything)...Disappearing Fast!
There’s a saying “if you don’t ask, the answer is always no”. How true! But while there’s a certain vulnerability that is there when we ask – there’s also the deep satisfaction when there’s an answer.
And today we have 3 answers to your “asking”.
  1. Nitrite/Nitrate Free Ham
  2. Dairy Free Cheese (see below)
  3. Kombucha
The Ham and Cheese are obvious, but what in the world is Kombucha? It’s a sweetened tea that’s been fermented from 1 to 3 weeks. This mildly sweetened, bubbly drink aids in detox, provides antioxidants, boosts energy and boosts immunity.
Switch from soda to kombucha with Live Soda Rootbeer and add health benefits effortlessly. If you’re more focused on health to begin with, try Brew Dr. Kombucha. It’s organic!
*All 3 of these new items are on a trial period. So if you like them, purchase them today.

Mini BBQ Chicken Calzones

60 minutes | 6-8 servings
In the car, on the couch, in the tractor or on a road trip, these calzones are perfectly tasty, different-than-sandwich on-the-go meals.
pizza dough (use your own or try my favorite here)
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 tablespoon olive oil*
3/4 lb. deli chicken, cubed or 1 14.5 oz. can fully cooked chicken*
1/4 teaspoon onion powder*
1/4 teaspoon paprika*
1 cup of your favorite bbq sauce + more for dipping*
4 ounces cheddar cheese, freshly grated*
4 ounces provolone cheese, freshly grated*
fresh cilantro, if desired
*Ingredient available at The Country Cupboard
Separate the dough into 6 or 8 pieces, then roll into a ball and place covered on a baking sheet to rise for another 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
While dough is rising, heat a skillet over medium-low heat and add olive oil. Toss in onions with a sprinkle of salt, then cover and let caramelize for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a bowl, combine chicken with garlic powder and paprika.
Roll each ball of dough into a small oval, then fill with a few spoonfuls of bbq sauce, shredded chicken, a handful of caramelized onions and a sprinkle of both cheeses. Toss in cilantro if desired. Drizzle a bit of additional sauce on top, then fold the top over to meet the bottom, tightly sealing the edges. Poke a few holes in the top with a knife or fork. Place calzones on a non-stick baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
