Hey, Honey! Let’s Talk about Money (and Food)!

I Can Taste a Party {Details Inside}

The end of tax season is almost here. Are your taxes finished? It’s always good to check that off the list. Getting a refund is even better! While we’re talking about money, let’s talk about Mints. Yes, they print the money, but I’m talking about the kind you eat.

See these Midnight Mints picture here. They are something not only amazing to bite into, but there’s also a decent amount to bite. Nice and thick and about two inches square, one piece will have you hooked. If you don’t like chocolate, we have Non-Chocolate Mints, like Leman’s Hard Candies. If you don’t care for Mint, we have Chocolate Coated Double Dipped Peanuts. If you don’t care for peanuts… I’ll just stop right there.

Happy 5th Birthday to Us!

Five fingers. A whole handful. That’s a positive thing, right? Actually, it is! It’s taken a lot of handfuls (of food) to get us to this point. But we’re grateful we’re here. And you’ve been so much a part of it.So guess what? It’s time for a birthday party. To honor you (and to honor us). Stop by all week long for treats, a game, great savings (on soups and cappuccino mixes) and gifts. It might be our birthday, but the gifts are for you. You don’t have to unwrap it to see how you can save $10 on your birthday.

Roasted Asparagus and Mushrooms

Serves 6   Ready in 25 minutes
Yum! (At least to me.) These two are a great combo.
1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, quartered
2 sprigs fresh rosemary, minced
2 teaspoons olive oil*
salt to taste*
freshly ground black pepper to taste*
* Ingredients available at The Country Cupboard
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Lightly spray a cookie sheet with vegetable cooking spray.
  2. Place the asparagus and mushrooms in a bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil, then season with rosemary, salt, and pepper; toss well. Lay the asparagus and mushrooms out on the prepared pan in an even layer. Roast in the preheated oven until the asparagus is tender, about 15 minutes.
