Gift Idea: Homemade Granola {Recipe Inside}

$8-10 Gift Bags
Did you know we ship anywhere in the US? Lately it’s been Texas, New Mexico, and Michigan. But if you ask for Florida, we’ll say “no problem”. And the best part – we ship flat rate* so the weight isn’t a problem.

Now mostly this is a perk if you live far away and can’t live without marshmallows or gummis or fresh nuts or chocolate. But if you live close and you want to share something yummy with someone far away, we’ll take care of it. You can even call in your order and pay over the phone.

The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season is definitely here. Goodies for Christmas gifts are leaving the store heading to happy hearts. Make a happy heart with our Gift Baskets. This one pictured here is All-Ready-for-Soup:  crackers, cheese, summer sausage, pasta, canned chicken and chicken bouillon mix. Stop in and see our Salted Caramel basket or a Simply Strawberry basket. Create your own with any item in the store.

*Items have to fit in flat rate box.

Golden Honey Granola

Makes 15 cups.  1 hour
This is a great gift idea! I love granola for breakfast or as a snack. Not only is it yummy, it’s also easy to make.
6 c. old-fashioned oats
1 c. sliced almonds
1 c. dried cranberries
1 c. dried apricots, chopped
1 c. light-brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1½ stick butter
½ c. honey

All ingredients available at The Country Cupboard

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, toss together all ingredients except butter and honey.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in honey. Pour over oat mixture and toss to distribute. Spread granola onto a parchment lined baking pan and bake, stirring occasionally, until oats are toasted and sugar begins to caramelize, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely on pan. Transfer to an airtight container.
