It’s Spring in here! And the way the weather forecast is, it looks like it might soon be Spring out there. YAY! Put some Spring into your step and stop by to see our Spring and Easter Candy Selection.

Local Shops Spring Open House

The Shops of Fairbury are celebrating the arrival of Spring on Monday, March 14th with open houses. Stop by Heart’s Desire, Meyer’s Gifts and Services, Serendipity, Lost Arts, The Spotted Owl, Once ‘N Again and Dave’s Supermarket for new items, samples and savings.

We’re celebrating too! Our Spring Savings Sale starts Friday, March 11th and runs through Monday, March 14th. Sample our Sweet Dips. Save $1 off any bag. Choose from:  Lemon, Vanilla Bean, Key Lime, Peach, Blueberry, Peanut Butter, and Mocha.

Homemade Gum Drops – St. Patrick’s Day Treat

Who knew something like this could be so easy?

All ingredients available at The Country Cupboard except applesauce

1 1/2 cups Applesauce
2 1/4 cup Sugar
2/3 c. or 2 boxes (3 oz) Lime Gelatin
2 T. or 2 envelopes Unflavored Gelatin
Grease 13×9 pan.
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for a minute.
Pour into prepared pan and refrigerate until set. Dust cutting board with sugar. Use a spatula to loosen sides and turn out onto cutting board. Dust top of Jello with sugar. Use shamrock shaped cookie cutter to cut out gum drops. Roll edges in extra sugar and set onto wax paper for 1 hour to dry out slightly. Store in an airtight container.
