Summer’s Here…Drink It Up
I saw someone pick up two bags of Iced Java Smoothie Mix lately. It reminded me how much I love that stuff. If you haven’t tried iced java yet and you like coffee, you are missing out. Don’t like coffee? We have plenty of other drink mixes – iced teas and fruity smoothie mixes – which are great for summer.

Are you eying your large green tomatoes like I am? I’m hoping we have a good tomato season this year. Just in – Mrs. Wages mixes to help you making ketchup, pizza sauce, pasta sauce, salsa (hot and medium), and chili sauce. Just dump, stir, simmer and eat!
I haven’t had this in a while, but I think it’s fabulous.
2 ½ c. water 1 c. uncooked long-grain rice
½ c. chopped, dried pineapple, no substitutes
2 tsp. butter
½ tsp. grated lime rind
¼ tsp. salt
¼ c. chopped fresh cilantro or 4 t. dried cilantro
1 Tbsp. chopped green onions2 ½ Tbsp. fresh lime juice

Bring 2 ½ c. water to a boil in a medium saucepan, add rice and next 4 ingredients. Cover and reduce heat, simmer 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat; stir in cilantro, onions, and juice. Serves 6.
