We had a great two days during the Anniversary Sale. The weather was perfect for lunch outdoors under the tent. The free popcorn, sandwiches and dog balloons were a hit. It was great to see you – thank you for joining us and making our first year successful and fun!

Father’s Day is Sunday.

Does anyone else wonder what to buy dad? Me, too. It doesn’t hurt to ask though. Here’s the answer I got to “what would you like for Father’s Day from The Country Cupboard?”:  dark chocolate almonds, milk chocolate cashews, and raspberry syrup. You can ask your father or we can offer a few suggestions. Nuts, cappuccino, 12 flavor gummi bears and milk chocolate buckeyes are great choices, along with salsa, pickled baby beets and snack mixes, such as s’more mix or cappuccino mix. Better yet, bring dad out for lunch and let him pick. We have Melt the Heart Father’s Day greeting cards – a great way to tell dad you appreciate him.

Think Summer! We now have frozen treat bars for under $1. Try vanilla, chocolate or fruit twist. We’re excited to share we recently lowered our price on cocoa powder. We hope to share our lower prices with you in the future.

Brownies for Ice Cream Sundaes
Think Summer again! It’s been a while since I’ve had this, but from what I remember this is divine!
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 t. vanilla
3/4 c. margarine, softened
1/2 t. salt
4 eggs
1 c. flour
3/4 t. baking powder
3/4 c. cocoa
1/2 c. walnuts
Mix sugar, margarine and vanilla. Add eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 approximately 25-30 minute but still gooey. Serve warm and gooey. Top with ice cream.
