Thanks to all who joined us for our Snack Sale. We hope you thought they were delicious. Stop by this week to try out our new dips. We have both savory and sweet.

Let’s think about Soup

It’s easy to make, easy to eat and perfect for this type of weather. We have everything to help you out with soup. Make it yourself with noodles, chicken, beef or ham soup bases, beans, dried veggies and spices. Make it yourself with our dried soups mixes. You won’t wonder what to make with eleven different choices. Choose from these bean-based soups:ย  holiday, hearty, 13 bean or harvest soup. Don’t like MSG? These soups (chili, creamy broccoli, American cheeseburger and chipotle taco) are MSG free. Looking for comfort food? Chicken noodle, french onion, chuck potato and cheesy bacon potato soups fit right into that category. Want to make your own soup mix for yourself or a gift? Try these recipes below. All the ingredients are available at The Country Cupboard.

2 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
4 teaspoons dried minced onion
4 teaspoons dried celery seed
2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
2 1/2 cup uncooked wild rice blend
4 tablespoons coarsely chopped dried shiitake mushrooms
Blend gravy mix & seasonings and layer in jar or container with rice & mushrooms.

Or, place in crockpot in the morning with 14 cups of water and let it simmer all day until you get home. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

I forgot to mention last week about our new sugar free wafers. We know you love the vanilla and caramel. Now choose from strawberry, chocolate and peanut butter. Strawberry and chocolate make me think of Valentine’s Day which is right around the corner. We have some fun heart-shaped marshmallows for Valentine’s day and we have some great sprinkles, too. Let’s mix them together for a great sweet treat. Cover the marshmallows with chocolate and dunk them in sprinkles. Use skewers or pretzels and make them into suckers. Tuck a marshmallow inside a cookie dough ball. Bake up some pink sweetness. Add the marshmallows to your coffee – a cute way to share I love yous. I think this idea is cute and delicious. Bake brownies in muffin tins for 13-15 minutes. Remove from the oven and press in a heart-shaped marshmallow. Melt either white chocolate chips or white chocolate discs and drizzle over the top. Sprinkle with heart-shaped sprinkles or colored sugar. YUM! Watch for more Valentine ideas next week.
