The Comforts of Home Cooking!

As I write this, snow flurries are blowing outside of my window. Where, oh where did fall go? The weather has quickly changed to make firesides delightful and comfort food heavenly. Our thoughts have changed from iced coffee to warm cappuccino, from summery salads to comforting soups.

Here at The Country Cupboard, we have some delicious comfort food to share with you. Stop in and order a personal sandwich or make one of your own. All of our sandwich buns are available for purchase in quantities of 6 or 8. Purchase your favorite deli meat and cheese, sliced to order, and you can make your own delicious sandwiches at home!

Have you tried one of our homemade frozen meals? We have turkey or ham roll ups that serve 1-2, 3-5, or 4-6. Just pop it in your oven and supper is served in 60-70 minutes. Our special introductory prices are available through November 9th.

When I think of comfort food, I often think of pasta dishes or soup with noodles. We have a variety of noodles:  organic spinach spaghetti, gluten-free rice shapes, Mrs. Miller’s homemade noodles, colored pasta shapes and my all-time favorite – Inn Maid egg noodles. They are thin and delicious. Use them in Cheesy Noodles below.

Cheesy Noodles
One of our favorite foods. Cheesy Noodles were often served at church suppers in Ohio. This recipe is adapted from one that serves 100! Inn Maid Noodles (available here) are the best option, but you may use any type of noodle or pasta.
1/2 lb. Inn Maid egg noodles
1/4 c. butter
1/3 lb. Meltz Easy Cheese (similar to Velvetta)
1 can cream of celery soup
1 1/2 c. milk
onion powder, salt and pepper to taste
Cook noodles according to package. Melt butter and cheese in large saucepan, then add remaining ingredients. Add cooked noodles to pan and mix well. If serving immediately, reduce milk by half cup as it get thicker as it sits.
Serves 7-10
This week only save $1 on Meltz. Get two pounds for only $3.99
