Do you ever use that word? We do and it’s part of our BIG announcement! We know you love the smell of our store; you say so often. But unfortunately that is our “oopsie”. The scent of the burning candle and air fresheners throughout the store have created a funny taste in some of our food. So we have removed the candles, air fresheners and the food you said tastes funny. We have replaced the food items with new product in thicker bags. We are very sorry this happened! We will be glad to replace any product or refund your money. Just bring in your receipt or product.
Prairie Central FFA is selling pumpkins at The Country Cupboard. Come and take a look at them – some are pink! All of the money raised goes to help with breast cancer awareness. Buy 2 small ones or 1 medium for $2. The larger ones are between $5-$10.
It’s time to start thinking about all that delicious holiday food (especially the cookies). Did you know that we offer a 10% discount if you purchase the whole bag or box? For flour and sugar – it’s 50 pounds, other items are 25 pounds or less. You may purchase a whole box of nuts or chocolate too, if you’d like. It is helpful for us to know about two weeks ahead so we can be sure to have it in stock. If there is something special you are looking for, please let us know. We can check to see if we can get it.
Some of our new items are canned chicken, canned beef, liquid aminos, apple cider vinegar, peanuts (roasted and salted and just roasted), coffee (from Sumatra and Guatemala), and red hot baking candies (see recipe below).
Wash, core and halve each apple. Place cut side up in 9 x 10 baking pan. Mix together flour and sugar and sprinkle over top of apples halves. Put a dot of butter on each apple half. Add 1/2 c. water to bottom of pan. Sprinkle red hot cinnamon candies over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Makes 12 apples.
